EUNICE~ On Wednesday, October 27, 2021, William James “Billy” Bourque passed away at Heritage Manor Nursing Home at the age of 73.
Billy was born in Eunice to Louis and Odile Godeaux Bourque on December 29, 1947. He joined the National Guard at the young age of 20 and two years later he was drafted by the United States Army where he served his country for six years. He was a true Patriot!! Billy was a simplistic man with few words; however, he had a dry sense of humor which we all loved. He had unconditional love for all children which was where he was the happiest babysitting his grandchildren! His simplicity led him to be one with nature as he loved to hunt, fish and be outdoors. The New Orleans Saints was his favorite football team, and he was a devoted fan never missing a game! Billy loved cooking for family and friends and his favorite was to bar-b-que. It is said best, he was a connoisseur of bar-b-que!!
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him, especially his sister and caretaker for many years Loicy Bourque of Eunice; His other special person was his stepdaughter Theresa Lobrano of Eunice; brother, Preston Louis Thomas and wife, Sylvia of Baytown, TX.; twelve grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his lovely angel (as he called her) Ola Pearl Watford which was his life- long partner; his son, Kevin Bourque; his three sisters, Sandra (Annie) Thomas Stroder, Mary Florence Bourque Anderson and baby sister, Joyceline Bourque.
