EUNICE~It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Allen Paul Stroderd announces his passing on Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at his home at the age of 81. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, June 12, 2021 at St. Jules Catholic Church in Tee Mamou. Rite of Committal will follow in the St. Jules Cemetery with Father Paul LaFleur, Celebrant.
Allen was a well known, hardworking, honest small engine mechanic. He was also a very loyal and avid Iota Fan and a member of the Knights of Columbus, Post 4906 in Tee Mamou. He owned Stroderd Grocery and Service Station in Tepetate for 60 years. Allen was very selfless person and spent his whole life wanting to serve others. He never knew a stranger, loved everyone, and would give the shirt off his back. He was a dedicated lifelong parishioner of St. Jules Catholic Church in Tee Mamou, where he also served as a Eucharist Minister. Allen was a wonderful, loving, family oriented father, brother, grandfather and friend and will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him especially his five daughters, Joan “Yvette” Stroderd, Danielle Elizabeth Stroderd, and Rebekah Michelle Comeaux and husband, Steve, all of Tepetate, Anya Nicole Guillory and husband, Eric of Eunice and Amanda Claire Beard of Tepetate; brothers, Joseph Elson “Joe” Stroderd, Jr. of Tepetate, Louis Winston Stroderd and wife, Beverly of Broussard, and James Henry Stroderd and wife, Suzie of Alexandria; sisters, Mary Ruth Pousson and husband, Ronald of Egan, and Barbara Hoffpauir and husband, John of Youngsville; sister in laws, Deborah Ann Janice Stroderd Boles of Belle Chase and Mildred Hebert Stroderd of Baton Rouge; thirteen grandchildren, Tori Sonnier, Taylor Fontenot, Brooks Stroderd, Lexi Champagne, Maci Stroderd Mouton, Mackenzie Comeaux, Madison Comeaux, Meghan Comeaux, Caroline Beard, Claudia Beard, Colby Guillory, Colleen Beard, Sarah Guillory; eleven great grandchildren, Andrew, Grayson, Aubree, and Gabrielle Fontenot, Roman and Scarlett Stroderd, Desmond King, Zoe Sonnier, Randall “Tripp” Mouton III, and two on the way; as well as extended family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Joan Richard Stroderd; parents, Joseph Elson and Mary Ena Caswell Stroderd; brothers, Edison, Herman, Thomas, and Patrick Stroderd; and sister, Deborah Louise Stroderd.
At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin's Funeral Home in Eunice on Friday, June 11th from 11:00 am until 10:00 pm and again on Saturday, June12th from 8:00 am until time of services. The family will pray a Rosary at 6:00 pm on Friday.
