Bertha "Buddie" Babb

August 23, 1939 — August 28, 2020

Bertha "Buddie" Ann Bellemin Babb, is at peace now and praising her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in heaven.  She passed away peacefully in the morning hours of August 28, 2020, in Houston, TX. Buddie was born on August 23, 1939 in Grand Coteau, LA, to Peter Joseph and Mathilde Guidry Bellemin. She was a member at Mary Queen Catholic Church in Friendswood, TX where she worshipped and served her church and community with her God-given talents and treasures.

She retired from Shell Oil Company in Houston, TX after working for 38 years at various executive administrative positions.

Her favorite times were spent with her grandchildren reading to them, shopping with them and teaching them how to cook and serve others with the mighty example she set. She kept herself busy planning and preparing a variety of unique dishes for family and friends. When she wasn't doing that, she was baking something delicious, either cakes, cookies, breads, muffins or mini pies.  Her beloved home state of Louisiana would shine through most of those delicious treats with the flair that only Buddie had.  Precious lady, loving, generous, thoughtful, giving, and sweetheart were just a few of the kind words friends use to describe her.

Buddie will be greatly missed by her daughter, Tricia Ann Cegielski and husband, Alan, her granddaughters: Teale Malone (Joseph), Tess Horbach and Tehya Horbach and great grandchildren: Joshua and Emerson Malone, and Presley Bailey. Sisters: Gennie Manuel, Bea Rolla, and Jeanne Cuadros and their families, along with numerous other family and friends.

Buddie was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, James "Jim" Babb, sister Marie Fritsche, sister Geri Bellemin and brother, Charles Bellemin.

A Memorial Mass is scheduled for Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Charles Borromeo Church at 174 Church St., Grand Coteau, LA.  70541.  Following the mass, the rite of committal will be celebrated as she is buried alongside her husband at St. Charles Borromeo Cemetery in Grand Coteau, LA.
