John Rozas

EUNICE~ John P. Rozas children are saddened to announce that their dear father passed away on Sunday, June 13, 2021, at Eunice Manor Nursing Home at the age of 89. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 17, 2021, at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice. Entombment will follow in the St. Paul Mausoleum with Father Sensat, Celebrant.

John’s accomplishments include  serving in the United States Army  with an honorable discharge and  entrepreneur.  Businesses he started where Rozas Shoe Store, Eunice Sewing Center, PRRT Construction and The Vacuum Clinic. He loved dancing and enjoyed going to the coffee shoppe. But most of all he loved  nothing more than spending time with his family.  He was a beloved father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather and friend and will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.  Left to cherish his memory are his three children, Jerome Rozas and wife, Donna, Greg Rozas and Tricia Rozas and companion, Larry Breaux all of Eunice; his special friend, Shirley Cormier; two siblings, Merline Kidder and husband, Floyd of L’anse Meg and Henry Rozas and wife, Angella of Eunice; his seven grandchildren, Katie R. Cline, and husband, Jason, Jody Rozas and wife, Christine, Jacqueline Rozas, Casey Rozas and wife, Erica, Scott Rozas and wife, Catina, Brandi Rozas and Derrick Mott; eight great grandchildren, Chandler, Roman, Joleigh, Nadiya, Issac, Wesley, Alyse and Carli; as well as extended family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Maxie Ardoin Rozas; siblings Joseph Rozas and Carl “Calou” Rozas.

At the request of the family, visitation will be held at Ardoin’s Funeral Home in Eunice on Wednesday, June 16th from 11:00 am until 9:00 pm and again on Thursday, June 17th from 8:00 am until time of services. Rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm on Wednesday.
